About Eric
"I study, compose, arrange, play, and teach primarily concert and marching percussion. I played percussion in school band from 6th grade on up until I graduated high school. I had to continue playing in a large musical ensemble so I played marimba in the pit for the Cascades Drum & Bugle Corps for my 2009 drum corps season. The next year, I played quads for Cascades in 2010 and again in 2011, aging out as the quads section leader. As a result of my three seasons of drum corps, I am very fluent and enthusiastic in all that has to do with the activity and plan to be involved in it someway as long as it exists.
Since I've graduated high school, I have been teaching the percussion sections of several high schools in Western Washington, some including Lake Washington High School, Roosevelt High, and Inglemore High. Teaching continues to be my all-time favorite occupation in life.
Along the way throughout my percussion career, I've taken lessons or have been fortunate enough to learn from many professional musicians. Some of them include Terry Marsh, David Dunbar, Nick Molenda, Matt Little, Shealley Gumiran, Ronnie LaGrone, Travis Opecensky, and A.J. Pace.
I started writing halfway through my sophomore year of high school at North Kitsap High School. I moved to Lake Washington High School for my junior and senior years and graduated there, continuing to write. I now have nearly 6 years of composing and arranging experience under my belt. Throughout these years, I've experimented with writing all kinds of percussion genres but have mostly focused on concert and marching.
I'm currently attending Edmonds Community College, and plan to transfer to Central Washington University to major in Music Education and minor in Musical Composition."
